Welcome to Administrate TV, I’m James and today we’re going to be talking about how to not let the details derail your training.
So I’m going to start off with a story. At an aeroplane manufacturing company, the engineers devised a test in order to test how strong their windshields were in case birds flew into them. So what they did was they built a special gun, and fired chickens are these windshields. Now when the engineers at a train manufacturing company found out about this, they decided to adopt the test for themselves, because they tested for similar eventualities. They got the schematics, they built the gun, and they started firing chickens at this glass. Now what happened was every single time the glass broke, the chicken went right through! So when it reached the point where the windshields were actually stronger than the aeroplane windshields, they went back to the aeroplane engineers to explain the situation. It was at this point that the aeroplane engineers realised that they’d forgotten one key detail. That you need to defrost the chicken!
Now the moral of this story is that details are important. The right information has to be given to the right people, at the right time, otherwise mistakes can and will happen.
Managing Those Details with Administrate
Now to get to the relevance of this for training companies, and for Administrate. I’m in Business Development, and I speak to a lot of different training companies, and one of the things I hear the most is that when it comes to instructor-led training, there are a lot of details that go into the setting up and running of these events. Now you have your students, and you have your course material, and it’s all about bringing them together and delivering this training. And this is where the Administrate system can help. And the really cool thing about the whole being able to create your own task workflow is these all go into a central repository, meaning every time you make a new event, you can drag and drop what needs to be done into that specific event.
So, to sum up, the moral of this story is about how important details are, and how our Events System can help you get them right every single time.
