One of the reasons we're so excited to run LITE every year is it gives us a chance to welcome customers from all over the world to Edinburgh - Scotland's beautiful capital city and home of Administrate's headquarters.

If you've never been to Edinburgh before, we're here to tell you exactly why you need to come and visit us. As if the promise of our fantastic LITE program wasn't enough, the breathtaking setting of Edinburgh should be enough to convince you to come!

Let's take a look at just some of the reasons why Edinburgh is one of the greatest cities in the world, and we hope to see you here in July!

A Foodie's Dream

If you're looking for great places to eat, then Edinburgh is definitely the place for you! We've got no shortage of amazing restaurants, food fairs such as farmers' markets and The Pitt Market, and quirky eateries. If you're vegetarian or vegan then you're in luck too, as there are loads of great places dotted all over the city, so you're sure to find something that fits the bill. Check out Vegan Edinburgh's website for the places you need to try while you're here!

Visiting Edinburgh also gives you the chance to sample some local Scottish fare. If you've never tried haggis, Cullen Skink, stovies, or even a deep-fried Mars Bar (yes, they are a thing, and yes, they are delicious), then Edinburgh is the perfect place to give some new things a try!

We've already picked our top 10 places to get something to eat and our favorite coffee shops from all over the city, so you don't even need to worry about picking a starting point!

It's often said that the Scots enjoy a wee dram or two, and Edinburgh has no shortage of pubs and cocktails bars for you to find your perfect drink in. We've already had a think and picked our favorite places to get a drink whatever your type of drink is, so check those out here!

Easy to Explore

One thing that's great about Edinburgh is how easy it is to explore. You can walk most of the places in the city center in no time, but we also have an amazing bus service that will take you anywhere you need to go in the city for just £1.70!

The city center itself is pretty jam-packed with cool things to see and do, including Edinburgh Castle, Arthur's Seat, the National Museum of Scotland, Princes Street Gardens, and the Royal Mile. If you want to know the main tourist attractions you need to see, as well as some things which are a little more off the beaten track, check out our recommendations.

Steeped in History

If you're a history lover, then Edinburgh is definitely the place to visit! From Edinburgh Castle itself to our historic Old Town, there's plenty to explore. If you're a fan of the more macabre side of history as well, Edinburgh is the perfect place for you. There's plenty of ghost tours, the Edinburgh Dungeon, Mary King's Close, the Edinburgh Vaults, and Greyfriars Kirkyard which is said to be haunted if you want to see a different side of Scottish history.

Party Paradise

If you're keen to party the night away, then you won't be short of places for a late-night drink and a dance. There are plenty of clubs in Edinburgh, as well as lots of late-night bars if having a boogie isn't your thing. We're also home to famous comedy venues like The Stand, and attractions such as the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh and the National Museum of Scotland frequently run late-night events so you can explore them after they usually close.
